How to Say No – Unsubscribe from Other People’s Panic

I’ve always known OPP to stand for ‘other people’s property’. I don’t know it could come along with panic too.

As a fledgling adult, it can be difficult not to be swept up in other people’s panic. Dealing with with OPP can be tough so, its up to you to be undeniably firm in your decisions.

Here are four tips on unsubscribing yourself from OPP.

  1. Take a deep BREATH. When you choose a breathing technique, it will help your body relax and focus on the person or situation.
  2. LISTEN and observe situations without forming judgement.Let’s be honest – This can be tricky but, it’s essential in uncertain times.
  3. Resolve situations by RESPONDing with facts, not feelings. Responding to situations with facts empowers the conversation to move to forward.
  4.  Be firm in your decision to move on to the next project. Cancel your subscription to their panic.

Involving yourself in OPP can be detrimental to your self growth. Don’t allow other people’s panic to stunt your worth ethic and self growth.

Top Five Notes from “Time Is Money” x Aiden Nolan

During my commute to work, I read Aiden Nolan’s ebook A Simple System To Cure Procrastination Without Willpower, Become More Productive, Find Your Focus & Get More Done In Less Time!

Relating time to money opened my eyes to how much time I spent with negative self talk. It was hindering self growth and worth. Here are my top five notes from this book.

I started this blog in 2017. Waiting for inspiration prevented me from posting consistently. Once I got past this amateur attitude, I began to write more posts and take time to dig deeper with in myself and utilize my resources.
I used to avoid talking to people about A Growing Document. This resistance formed into frustration and anger toward myself for not feeling/being successful. After confronting my resistance, sharing the vision for this blog became easier.
I experimented with this example last year. My mini goal was to write three times a week five minutes. This small start goal helps me write everyday now. Writing no longer feels like a chore!
I am working on being more positive to myself. Negative self talk is difficult and messy but when I don’t engage my mind is free.
I didn’t realize how saying “I can’t” limited my opportunities. It took me years to find “I can” in my attitude. Everyday I am working to try new things and increase my willpower.

My Favorite Quotes to Combat Negative Self Talk

We all get discouraged. Here are my favorite quotes to combat negative self talk.

“Let it go.”

Erykah Badu – Bag Lady

“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.”

Maya Angelou

“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

–Ferris Bueller

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

–Timo Cruz – Coach Carter

“Act as if! Act as if you’re a wealthy man, rich already, and then you’ll surely become rich. Act as if you have unmatched confidence and then people will surely have confidence in you. Act as if you have unmatched experience and then people will follow your advice. And act as if you are already a tremendous success, and as sure as I stand here today – you will become successful.”

Jordan Belfort, The Wolf of Wall Street (The Wolf of Wall Street, #1)

“Hakuna Matata!”

Lion King

“I’m taking my freedom, putting it in my car wherever I choose to go It will take me far”

Golden x Jill Scott

“I decided long ago never to walk in anyone’s shadows If I fail, if I succeed at least I’ll live as I believe

Greatest Love of All x Whitney Houston
